    Peeling paint on bathroom ceiling

No it takes the soft coat (or a lamination of it) with it. Simple science in action.

    Tadcaster Bridge

So if it hung on precariously then that would be hunky dory and the bridge would be saved?

    Small damp patches in plaster

I've been in the business for 35 years and never seen a house that leaks from the side due to the weather. It's always the top.

    We are not alone?

The reason that there is no intelligent life out there is that whenever a civilisation becomes advanced enough to destroy itself - they do. That's our destiny too, and it might not be that far away. A baby born today could conceivably live forever with medical science racing along, but so are...

Little Greene absolute Matt - marking

No. This is the problem. The finish is matt because it is a very fine abrasive surface hence it marks easily. If you rub it off it'll go shiny.

    Small damp patches in plaster

My personal view is that due to the very clear definition of the spots, I'd suspect water getting down the cavity from above and hitting wall ties and running into and through the wall.

    Etching Base coat/keying paint?

Better off using a 1/4 sheet sander. No need to strip it all off. When it's smooth it's ready for your standard primer/undercoat. Wear a mask when sanding.

You can get super grip primers, but proper preparation is you best bet.

    Peeling paint on bathroom ceiling

No it's not. Science proves you wrong. And PVA is a constituent of many paints so if you learn to use it judiciously, is a very useful tool for the decorater.

took tele off wall, big mess

Then do it as I told you to. If you use scrim you need to skim. You worked that one out yourself.

If you scrim it you skim it. Simples.

    Peeling paint on bathroom ceiling

Bog standard matt emulsion is the usual culprit. It's soft and chalky and your vinyl coat will pull it off. God knows why people continue to recommend it. Best bet at this point is a cheapo oil undercoat thinned down a bit. Do it first thing in the morning as it's a bit smelly. Leave it a few...

    Painting old aluminium window frames

You need to get an aluminium etching primer. Not an aluminium wood primer. Then paint it as normal.

Another stupid dog another stupid victim.

It's seen as a yob dog. All other dog owners will treat you like a pariah if you own one.
