Should I return this sharp sand?

Fair, but the amount of smaller grains sand seems greater than other sharp sand I've dealt with before.

Should I return this sharp sand?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I received the red-tinted sand this weekend. To me, it looks more like plastering sand (similar to what I had not long ago) mixed with small stones. For comparison, the brownish-yellow sand is leftover sharp sand from another supplier. That one looks...

Drainage Headache in Small Garden Project

Do you mean having the ACO drain at the bottom of the garden and then running it back along the left side? The inspection chamber you mentioned is actually for the main sewer pipe from the house, I don’t have one for surface water. I’m thinking of adding a roddable gully or something similar...

Drainage Headache in Small Garden Project

Here are some photos for you. I've also made a drawing to try and make sense of it, not sure it's entirely accurate, though. Hopefully, it helps clarify the situation a bit. The pencil line in the second photo marks the height where the top of the paving will start near the house. Ideally, this...

Drainage Headache in Small Garden Project

I'm currently in the process of laying porcelain paving across our small garden, but I've hit a wall when it comes to drainage. From the start, I was set on having the paving drain water towards the bottom of the garden — it's about 8m long — rather than towards the house. I just don't like the...

    What is this cable please?

Ye Yes, the orange cable. This cable goes into the garden. Maybe at some point there was a socket or light in garden. The FCU and the meter have always been in the garage. Looks like it doesn't do anything now.

    What is this cable please?

Learned a new thing. Didn't know these are called micc cables. To answer your question, no, has no connection to the FCU. From what I know, few years ago the previous owners have redone the electrical

    What is this cable please?

The green/yellow is attached to the gas pipe. Nope, I don't see anything.

    What is this cable please?

This used to go into the garden for some reason. I feel like this was some sort of earthing? Doesn't look to be wired to anything now. I'm laying new paving and it's in the way. Thanks

Waste pipe into ground floor bathroom

Any suggestion on what will be the best way to seal the gap left around the soil pipe through foundation. Something that would keep it in place and prevent water or moisture going in. Thanks

Thank you so much, good sir. You have no idea how much your advice has helped.

Waste pipe into ground floor bathroom

This is what I managed to do today. Will this be okay? I still need to core drill the hole through the foundation.

Waste pipe into ground floor bathroom

Good call. Can I do y junction instead of 90? The only issue is the waste pipe is almost same level with rain pipe. I could do y branch and connect the mini chamber with an adjustable bend into y branch onto the main waste pipe

Waste pipe into ground floor bathroom

The waste pipe (the one on top) is too close to the neighbor's garage. I'm not sure what to do in this situation. Can I move the surface water pipe to the left, similar to the waste pipe, and then bring it back to the center? And can I move the current waste bend about 1 metre down the line to...

Waste pipe into ground floor bathroom

Something like this you mean? It’s 44.5 cm from the top of the waste pipe to DPC level. I’ll make the fall from the connection point into the house, and since it's only 82 cm from the waste pipe to the wall, I’m hoping the waste pipe will be deep enough to avoid the main water pipe that runs...

Waste pipe into ground floor bathroom

That photo was more of a reference for where the pipes start and how they run on top of each other. I will be connecting into the waste pipe a few meters down where the garage is and where the waste pipe shifts to the right a bit to make space for the rest of the gutters to connect to the...

Waste pipe into ground floor bathroom

Thanks! I think this is actually a great idea. I’ll just move the surface water pipe a bit to the left to make space for the waste pipe to go over it, and then connect everything with a Y-branch using a slightly angled bend fitting. Does that sound right?

Waste pipe into ground floor bathroom

Hey everyone, Hoping someone can help me out with this! We’re planning to add a second toilet downstairs, and the only spot that works is in the garage. It'll eventually have a toilet, sink, and a small shower. I've already dug up a bit around where the waste pipe comes out of the house, but...

    Breathable masonry paint?

It doesn't have weep holes, instead it has a corrugated pipe at the bottom with gravel back fill. Someone made the point that sand cement render itself along with waterproofers already reduced the breathability aspect of the wall. A highly breathable paint would probably not help very much. I...

    Breathable masonry paint?

I have a retaining wall that I'm looking to paint and need a breathable, hydrophobic paint. Has anyone tried Emperor Paint? I've seen it "recommended" on a few YouTube channels, but they sound and feel like paid advertising. They claim the paint is breathable, but there isn't much proof to...
