sorry to sound thick but when balancing the rads the experts say 20 deg difference between the flow and return on the rads using 2 thermometers don't have such things so basically should the return be red hot , hot, or hand hot just as a rough guide thanks

sorry to trouble you again good news is i found one problem the double rad at bottom of stairs is out of action as i took it out side to wash it out it took ages for the water to get through and could hear it bubbling in side no matter how hard i banged it with rubber mallet it did not improve...

ok so we not fixed yet but we have heating coming to some of the rads, question i have found the bathroom rad seems to be plumbed wrong on the rad its self ie the feed is at the bottom and the return is at the top could anyone tell me if that would be a problem

hi namsag sorry to be a pain have just traced all pipe work back from the hot water cil and 100% no valve just pipes with the odd welded joint cannot see where the lead goes down to boiler as it is inside the stack would it be possable that the valve would be somewhere inside the stack

yes you were right namsag until i took the floor up i could not see the other pipes and again this is a prob they come inside the fireplace stack and are deff made of lead they run under the floor in bedroom and then connect to copper before going into loft 28mm i believe i checked under floor...

thanks for the tip joe coming from the timer is a load of cables that seem to follow the pipes up stairs there is boxing from the pump to the ceiling befor it goes under the bedroom floor good as any place to start
