What is the point, of having a Royal Mail?

I've never had a problem with RM. A few times I've had parcels delivered to the wrong street but that was down to a rather dim posty that was doing holiday cover. Both times, I phoned their complaints line and got my mail back a day or two later. Another time I sent a parcel which someone...

    Fujifilm Cameras

I tried to get into photography a few years ago. I got an old Canon DSLR, and got a zoom lense (something like 400 or 600mm?) I can't remember. It did take good pictures yes, but as someone else said, the limit was my knowledge and patience which I didn't have a lot of. I sold all the kit for...

Oh, I've just found one that mounts to the base of the mirror stalk. Will see how that goes but any other suggestions welcome

    Scooter phone mount

Advice needed please. I'm trying to find a phone mount for my stepson who wants to do Deliveroo/justeat delivery. He has a peugeot kisbee 50 and there is no handlebar exposes to clamp a normal mount on. Does anyone know how others get around this? It must be an issue with other scooters, but...

How often do you injure yourself?

I'm a lot more careful these days, especially with power tools. I was once changing the belt on a belt sander and pressed the ON button with my leg, the thing fired up and the side of the belt cut into my finger web. Since then I turn everything off when changing blades etc. But I do injure...

Covering up uneven messy concrete slabs with Gravel Grids | Leveling Help

Artificial grass if you just want to cover it up. It drains well but obviously the cheap stuff won't last forever, and if there are any significant dips or raised edges you'll feel it. Temu and the like have some cheap stuff, we've had it covering a patch of wasteland that we CBA to re-do yet.

    Englands national Dish.

I have curry once or twice a week. Love it. But I was brought up on meat and veg. I had an uncle who, until not long ago, described pasta as "foreign muck". He's quite the philosopher

    Englands national Dish.

But many of us have pasta in the cupboard, and pour a jar of sauce over it. I don't think it's as revered as the Sunday roast which takes time, planning and several pairs of oven gloves.

    Moving from Sonos

Granted I've never listened to a system upwards of £500. But I bought a pair of Tannoy Eclipse floor standing speakers, coupled with an amp my dad gave me from the 1980s, hooked up a Bluetooth receiver that I bought for £12 and got a very good sound. My partner did have multi room Sonos with...

    Englands national Dish.

This is somewhat of a "where do you draw the line" question. One could say that the national dish should comprise of things we used to eat i.e. are native to England. In that case, Turnips should be out, as they were introduced here in 1700. Rabbits were introduced here in the 1st Century AD...

    Renault Captur grommet through firewall

The aftermarket stereo did sound muddy and muffled at first, but there are loads of tweaking options on the JVC, not just EQ but car size, speaker size etc. now it sounds good. I like a sub because I like metal, and bass heavy electronic stuff sometimes. In the past I've got just the sound I...

    Renault Captur grommet through firewall

Just cheap and basic. I have already fitted a 2-DIN JVC which already sounds miles better (still with stock speakers). I have a Phoenix Gold underseat sub to fit. This Renault is a right pain, not even the stock radio shelf accepts a standard size stereo cage so I had to cut to fit. And the...

    Renault Captur grommet through firewall

Thanks John. I can't get a picture, but yes I didn't want to remove and then find I couldn't get it back on, and then have water and/or fumes coming in the cabin! I also don't like drilling through something when I don't know what's on the other side. It would be just my luck that I'd drill...

    Renault Captur grommet through firewall

Hi All, I have a Renault Captur and want to feed a subwoofer power cable through the firewall to the battery. I've pretty much exhausted my googling skills but there doesn't seem to be any how to's on this. There is a partially accessible large grommet in the passenger footwell, but trying to...

    Faulty socket and weird readings

He just said the reading was weird and he'd never seen those figures before. Still waiting for them to get back to us. I fear it's a lot of fiddly work that they don't want

    Faulty socket and weird readings

I'm just interested to hear potential causes of this. It has been tested by professional electrician but we are still waiting for them to come back and fix. Basically - we have a socket behind our bedroom TV that has never worked. The electrician tested it and said he got weird readings (I...

    Bigger TV For Above Fireplace

yes but depends how you sit. We are always laying back in the chair so already looking up. In fact, when I go to my parents who have bolt upright stiff sofas where you can't lay back at all, it does make sense that they have their TV at knee level.

    Bigger TV For Above Fireplace

We have a 65" Phillips in the lounge (from RS) and it's perfect; the chimney breast is about half an inch wider on each side. I agree with the height - many people have them way too high but of course that's up to you. We would probably have it a bit lower but we have a fire underneath so had...
