    Thanks for the advice fella's. I've bought some relatively cheap stuff to spray on the infected wood - looking at the advice from Davey P I don't really need to worry and get the big companies in to sort it all out. Hell, if the stairs crumble away I'll just have to get some new ones!

    Waste pipe leak problem

    Nige, many thanks for the reply. Just to let you know I went to B&Q and bought some rubber bungs that attached to each waste pip and a thingg called a 'Waste Union'...it did the trick and all is working well - no leaks!!! Thanks
