The heating is firing but the pressure is getting close to the 3bar release valve. I had assumed that air was trapped within the boiler itself. Is there any way i can manually open up the air valve?

thanks for the information. the pump has now been replaced. On a separate not the water pressure is still quite high and i have bleed radiators etc. Do you have any other ideas where air could be stuck?

I have to replace the pump on my ravenheat 820/20 and was wondering how difficult this was going to be? what are the steps that i have to do to ensure that i don't break something else on the system. do i have to drain the system first etc? Cheers, Richard

i have a ravenheat rsf 820 / 20 system and the system is having problems. The system heats the water fine but when the demand from the CH system happens the system kicks in and after 2mins the system shuts down. A few minutes later the system tries again to heat and runs for another 2mins...

is there anyway i can descale the heat - exchanger without the need to buy a new one

can i drain the system by just turning off the mains supply to the house and draining the expansion tank?. This way i can leave all of the isolation valves alone.

The boiler doesn't kick in when any hot water tap is turned on as the diverter valve doesn't push the rod far enough to activate the micro switch. should i leave the isolation valves alone - aren't they there for that job ?
