New fan , new tranny and got supplier to double check suitability of tranny for fan. tranny rated at 35 va.

Haven't checked continuity of secondary .how would I do this

Tranny is in loft directly above in clear space on chipboard panel.

Thx for reply. Fan no longer works. A friend used a multimeter to check for output at secondary coil - none showing . Voltage of live was 243 ? Checked all connections at isolator and jb for lighting all seem fine.

Looking for some wisdom. Just installed a 6" fan to replace a 4" . Transformer has failed 3 times after running for a few times. This is a timer model so have live switched live and neutral at transformer. The 4" ran for years with no bother it was mains voltage. Gone for 12 volt as its closer...
