a few years now it was swapped from the original pump awhile back by British Gas, when it gets warm, ill have a look at taking pump off, unless it goes to crap before, what sort of pump should i be looking at to replace this one with at some point, 14 Radiators 6 up 8 down.

Should i do this with it set to heating or hot water?

sorry yes it was with the RADS only on and sorry yes i meant the rad valves i left them hardly open to try and push the flow to the downstairs rads especially the three problematic ones (valve fully opened on these 3) the other downstairs ones are again just cranked open a qtr turn. Hi, ive noticed that 3 of the downstairs radiators dont get hot when the heating comes on, all the others in the house do (6 upstairs and 5 downstairs do) after reading on here and other forums/youtube ive tried to rebalance the radiators, all got hot, great i thought, then the hot water kicked...

So i really just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who took time out of their lives to help me with the issue, i feel ive learnt a lot about the system in the house and even at my age feel a lot more confident to tackle any similar issues in the future. No doubt ill be on here asking...

Those images where with both HW & CH on, we have 8 rads downstairs and 6 upstairs, all are hot to touch now. Ive lived in the house since new (95/96) and only had one pump failure, ? never really had issues apart from needing to bleed the radiators and obviously to flush the one that caused all...

all downstairs 2 in living room (front windows and middle of room) and one in kitchen, the living room is a through room to the dinning room and that radiator is fine, one other in kitchen is fine as are the two at the backdoor and downstairs toilet as is the one at bottom of stairs.

How do I get the 3 rads hot that are stone cold even the flow and return pipes are cold, is it balancing them? They have been bled and are fine in that sense.

Will do, at present all rads apart from 3 boiling hot and water slowly getting warm but I'd expect that with an immersion tank from cold(I hope)
