I had BG come down today and look at the issue. He seems convinced that it's not a 'air pocket' issue because this would discolour the water and reduce the pressure. Thanks for your suggestion. For reference I have uploaded photos of the limescale build up after one shower. How do you recommend removing the micro filter? Having looked at the one that I have it looks like it's part of the shower head and it can't be removed.

I am pretty sure it's limescale. Do you have a picture of what you mean by white plastic?

I forgot to mention an important point. This only ever affects my hot water.

I don't think the issue is with the shower heads. I think it is the shower bar. I have to unscrew the shower bar constantly and remove the limescale from that, which fixes it temporarily.
