    2 pumped system

I know its been said on here befor some councils adopted this system years ago when they changed over from a coal fired back boilers with a pumped system to a free standing either wall or floor mounted boilers. I have spoken to many plumbers that had come accross this system in the past, not had...

    2 pumped system

saga finally finished at last I hope. 1) turned off gate valve that kept the cylinder topped up i/e the domestic tank ( the big one) 2) emptied the f & e tank to about 2" above the out let at the bottom of the tank and just before the operation of the ball cock came into play. 3) operated...

I thought that I made it clear in my last reply!!!! how ever I will make it short this time. No the vent pipe is not blowing over (as you call it) and 2 the water gets hot after about 10 mins. its comming back up the feed pipe at the botton of the f & e tank. the level of the water in the cold...

    1) no, bungallow use to have a coal fire with a back boiler and a pump in the loft to circulate the hw around the place. And in the mid 90's the fire and back boiler was removed and a free standing oil fired boiler installed in the garage some 10 feet away and 6 rads fitted along with and...

    2 pumped system

it is a 2 pumped system 1 for the DHW & 1 for the CH. Its the DHW 1 that I am concerned about, should this pump be on the flow or the return and can the valve be fitted on the same pipe as the pump and should it be before or after the pump.

    c/h header tank over flowing

O no I'm not. it is the f&e tank i/e the smaller one of the two. The larger one fills up the hot water cylinder but I quess you know that :) it would appear that he did'nt even try two turn off the supply to the cylinder to see if the water level would drop as other forum users had suggested.

see todays reply, plumber came turned on the hot taps and said no its not the coil, if it was the coil the hot water would be contaminated, fitted a new ball cock in the fe tank (emptied most of the water out to reduce the level) and after 3 days the problem came back suprise suprise. and he...

    c/h header tank over flowing

no its not comming from the vent pipe or ball cock, its comming from the filler connection at the bottom of the tank. its a oil fired open system. the bungalow at one time had a coal fired back boiler which fed the rads and the hot water cylinder and the previous owner had it taken out and a...

    c/h header tank over flowing

my daughter c/h header tank is over flowing and its not due to a sticking ball cock or the vent pipe over the tank thats causing the problem. It only happens when she puts the timer switch to H/W only and it would seem that the filler pipe at the bottom (as if there was a back pressure) of the...
