Phil.is the wall smooth when you rub your hand over.If it is there's nothing to worry about,its the way the plaster has dried.I get it some times when i dot n dab.BUT if the wall is not smooth and you have a lip, then you've had a bad job done mate,so get them to do it again.

Simon,if you really want to have a go,then i suggest you prime seal the wall first 5 parts water 1 part pva,wait for that to dry,then apply another coat of 3 parts pva 1 part water.Wait till this coat go tacky.than apply your 1st coat of skim,then the 2nd.Wait till this goes firm,then trowel...

If you go to topps tiles or B n Q you can buy the spade tile bits that are meant for tiles. There really worth the money, i paid about £3 for mine. They come in different sizes aswell. Or you can use a newish masonry bit but this takes alot longer and the risk to cracking the tile is greater.

:wink: Here's a good tip for ya. Get the wife to clean them for you :lol: . When its time to clean the rollers,i ask the missus to give a hand(to save time :wink: ) and when she's finished cleaning them there like new. I think i must of used the same roller about 10 times now. And i alway say...
