    If the pump is in the loft (I’m not familiar with the shower) then a Surrey flange or similar should have been fitted. It could be something as simple as poor pipework Installation.

    Yes, you can usually bung it (the cold feed on cold water storage cistern). There’s usually one as a gate valve (not always though) from the cold feed to the cylinder, usually entering the base. Photos of setup?

    Diverter probably not energising across properly, had this on multiple occasions with the Ecotec pro.

    Sounds like it’s could be the diverter valve, but best getting a professional in to take a look.

    Could be a few things dependent on: model of Vaillant, any work carried out recently, feel the flow pipe from cold and feel if it warms up.

    Just look like transit pieces to me. They usually have something covering the hanging bracket.

    Why is this? Are you sure it’s a multimeter? Sounds like a 2 pole voltage indicator. I would rewire the switch with just LNE and connected to the correct terminals

    So it sounds like you have reversed polarity. Is that brown also connected to the earth terminal?

    Are you sure it’s a neutral? Could be a switched live.
