If its a radial circuit the max is a 20amp mcb and its got to be a 32amp mcb if its a ring circuit!

yes, thats fine, just change the 13amp fuse to a 3amp fuse but make sure you turn the power off first to prevent electric shock!

Your going on about loose connections but was size breaker is in the distribution board? Showers should be backed by an 30MA RCD!
