Gas oven Diplomat G720 - Igniter won't stop clicking

I have just taken another quick look and it seems that there are 3 potential 'sensors'. There is a small probe at the other end of the main burner which I am guessing heats up to allow the main burner to open up, there is a long thin probe in the back corner which I am again guessing is the...

Gas oven Diplomat G720 - Igniter won't stop clicking

I guess that if I can understand what tells the igniter to stop sparking, then I will be able to find the problem!

Gas oven Diplomat G720 - Igniter won't stop clicking

Thanks, I will give it a try around the igniter at the back of the oven. There is no 'button' as the igniter 'sparks' when the oven control is turned on.

Gas oven Diplomat G720 - Igniter won't stop clicking

Since my wife cleaned the oven, the oven auto lights OK, but the igniter still keeps sparking ever second after the oven is alight, any ideas as to what stops the igniter?

Multi Fuel Burner (Fitting a flexi flue liner)

No it's a metal pipe. I will just use cement as you suggest. I have spoken to a HETAS installer and he has informed me that if you do the work yourself, the you get the local council to carry out an inspection.

Multi Fuel Burner (Fitting a flexi flue liner)

Thanks for that. Did you get a Hetas registered person to check your installation? There seems to be a lot of regulation around installing a solid fuel stove these days! www.hetas.co.uk

Multi Fuel Burner (Fitting a flexi flue liner)

I am about to upgrade my existing flexi flue liner (single skin gas) to a double skinned liner for my multi-fuel stove. I have a connector to go from the flexi liner (6") into the rigid pipe (5") and the manual tells me to put fire cement around the joints. There is no fixing other than...

Changing out a back boiler for a combi boiler

Dave Thanks. I guess that looking at boiler prices on the web, for what I want, then you are looking at around £700-£800 plus flue, programmer etc, so I am looking at around £1K. Then if you add the plumbers time based on your rates, I should be able to get the complete job for around £1.7 -...

Thanks for the information, I was looking around the figure of £500 - £750 for labour, so that's helpful. :)

Changing out a back boiler for a combi boiler

I just in the process of getting some quotes for replacing my boiler. I have a 3 bedroom house so we are looking a Worcester Greenstar type boiler. I will do all the pipe work up to the new boiler and so I will just need the heating engineer to fit the boiler, put in the flue, commision it...

Fitting new combi boiler using existing single pipe system

I am in the process of getting quotes for replacing my old back boiler with a combi boiler and the first heating engineer to call has said that I will need to convert my existing single pipe system to a dual pipe system! Is that correct? No combi boilers will work with a single pipe system!

    Siting of combi-boiler

Thanks for the advice. I will be doing a lot of the preparation work so that all the heating engineer will need to do is take the feeds that I prepare from the house and fit and connect the boiler. The boiler will only be around 2 - 3 metres from the downstairs taps and around around 6 metres...

    Siting of combi-boiler

Another couple of questions:- 1) Can a combi boiler work with a 'single pipe' heating system? 2) How many inputs/outputs are there for a combi boiler? I am guessing that there is a input/ouput for the heating 'loop', a cold water input and a hot water output, so 4! 3) Is the programmer...

    Siting of combi-boiler

I am thinking of replacing my old back boiler with a combi-boiler. I have a garage at the front of the house that is 1 metre away from the house and is connected via a porch. Can the boiler be sited in the garage with the flue coming out from the garage wall? I can insulate the pipes from the...

Baxi Bermuda GF Super Gas Fire

Still alive and kicking! By the way, I haven't removed the glass! I have cleaned it with a Brillo pad and the marks are better but not gone completely so thanks for the tip. :)

Baxi Bermuda GF Super Gas Fire

Thanks for the feedback. I did wonder if that would be an issue but I wasn't sure as you see many 'open' gas fires these days and perhaps the glass was just protecting us from the flames!

Baxi Bermuda GF Super Gas Fire

I have had the fire for a few years and the front glass is marked quite badly. I was wondering if it would be OK to remove the glass completely - I realise that there is a safety risk- but I have no children running around the house these days and 'open' gas fires are used - any thoughts?
