    House Re-wire.

yeah the cutoff is 6 meters from the meter!! The meter change company said it was a bit odd when they last came round. One thing I was thinking is if they change the location of anything surely it would be easier and safer to relocate the meter nearer to the main fuse? The safe zones...

    House Re-wire.

The cable in question will be used for lighting the upstairs rooms so will be quite low load (6 lights), but im just thinking it would be better for futureproofing! Something else, the current CU is located in an outbuilding / shed which is attached to the back of the house. the mains supply...

thanks to ban-all-sheds for the book recomendations. I spoke nicely to my librarian who has got them all in. They all make sense but I have a few questions around "safe zones" for running cables and protection requirements for burried cables. Am I right in saying that all burried cables...

    House Re-wire.

Thanks for the comments. I'm not planning on making the new wiring live until it has been inspected and passed. Pardon the ignorance but as long as all regulations are followed for point location, passing the rings through the joists and the chases in the walls are in the correct...

    House Re-wire.

I've got a reasonable amount of experience, but nothing on this sort of scale. Its good to know that it is possible, I was planning on doing the chasing and back boxes and anything else possible outside of the week I'm going to take to do the actual wiring in. The main reason I'm thinking...

    House Re-wire.

First of all I'd like to say this is a preliminary question and will only proceed based on the answers coming back in my favour, not simply if it involves spending less money at the risk of injury to my new wife, child and myself!! Long sentence! I heard from an electrician in passing that...

cap off and leave the vulcan in situ, resite new combi boiler upstairs, remove copper cylinder, run gas pipe down exterior wall, leave existing rads just fit thermo controls on each.

Vulcan Verona 55D. Does it have a pump built in to the unit?

1700 would be an improvement on the 3000 we have been quoted by 4-5 corgis already. its not the attitude, its the cost ! grateful if anyone can recommend a resonably priced corgi in leeds ?
