    Plasterboard on wrong way round?

yeah that's the problem. This paper stuff might get in the way, don't want to have to rip it all off, would be a nightmare. Can the side I've got still be plastered? I could paint that stuff on that was mentioned to help absorbency? cheers

    Concrete floor insulation

Thanks all, I'll just have to price it up. We need 60mm minimum, so I guess the 2" ones will have to be them. Is it necessary to stick the actual boards to the floor, or can they just be 'placed' in? cheers

    Plasterboard on wrong way round?

My m8 (!) plasterboarded my new room last week, and he has put the board on apparently the wrong way round. The board says 'fit other way' or something (the brown paper side is showing). Does this matter? Some people have said it's not an issue, and it used to be that way, others have said a...

    New foundations

thanks for the reply. The builder has said he will come back and underpin it for us, so fingers crossed. Whilst I'm on the subject, can I pick your brain about the floor? It's a standard concrete floor with a few bubbles in it (correct word?) I have a plastic membrane under the soleplates...

    New foundations

Thanks for the reply. There was a up and over garage door there initially, which we obviously had to brick up as it was draughty and old and broken etc. I don't know why the builder did not consider this, this is what I will asking him... The main entrace is from some french doors, which are...

    New foundations

I'm converting our garage into a playroom. We've taken the garade door down and in place put a two skin (brick and breeze block) wall in it's place. We went through the normal building regs, and phoned them to say we were starting the work. They said they didn't need to inspect as it was only...
