    Good stuff, how do you rate the wireless ones, as people have told me to stay clear of them in the past. Only ever dealt with hard wired, but if the wireless ones are any good may have to get one

    Fair enough. Why not use a 20A breaker for loft, then use a fcu for the lighting spurred of the loft radial, Gives you a little more juice should you ever need it.

    My money would be on Blunkett, as he would already have the advantage being blind already. Havinjg to use other senses etc. Id pay good money. Its how they should vote in a new PM. Id rather place a bet (and maybe win some cash) than put in a stupid paper vote anyway

    Get a spark to check it with a megger. We had a problem like this on a council house. Everything off of circuit, still had a fault. It turned out to be mice that had nibbled down the insulation, causing a short but not a dead one. Every so often the breaker would go but you could not time...

    An unfused spur can, yes. However the spurs in question will be Fused Connection Units or FCU's They have a fuse holder in them and the maximum fuse they will take is 13A, hence the 13A maximum

    Low voltage ceailing light. Humming transformer and no light

    Transformers do run warm yes. There may be a thermal cut off or fuse also. Where is the transformer? Does it have free air around it or is it covered up at all (by insulation etc)
