    Rear view mirror plug problem

I've just had a look at the MOT testers' manual and you are correct. That's a comfort but would still like to connect up if possible. Thanks Burnerman.

    Rear view mirror plug problem

Just bought a brand new replacement wing mirror for my Suzuki 2012 SX4 ZS5. Fitted beautifully with no problems except when trying to connect the electrics. The first two images show the female plug coming from the car and the male plug from the old mirror. The third image shows the plug from...

    Joining different size down pipes

Can't get out to stores because of Covid. I need to join a 50mm gutter down pipe to a 68mm down pipe to drain away better. Colour black. Tried Internet search at Wickes, Screwfix, etc but am not confident about their descriptions. Trying to speak to someone is difficult or impossible. Can anyone...

Rust under steel bath causing brown stain

As you get out of the bath your wet hands aĺlow a bit water to seep on to the top of the side panel, where it meets a particle of dropped rust causing a brown stain. As it is localised I thought a solution would be to paint it wit h cure rust.. Temporary I know.

Rust under steel bath causing brown stain

I have a steel bath installed about 4 years ago. Brown stains are issuing from the top of the side panel. Taking the panel off I found that it was rust dropping from the underside edge of the top of the bath for about a metre. Water getting into top of the panel was meeting the dropped rust...

    Guttering past a shed door

regsmytth, and alluded to by foxhole, have come up with a solution. Why didn't I think of that. Simple and brilliant. If I use mini guttering and shorten the door a little I can have have a full length running along the 10' without interruption. Many thanks. Unfortunately catlad raising the...

    Guttering past a shed door

This might be impossible. My 10'x7' gable style shed has a door in the middle of the 10' side. One section of the roof slopes down on the door side. The ends of the sloping roof do not extend much over the sides of the shed. I want to put guttering up. No problem on the non door side. On the...

    Greatest strain

A bicycle has a pedal sprocket wheel and a smaller back axle sprocket wheel. I'm curious to know if the strain on the chain is equal at both sprocket wheels.

    Data transfer from dead PC

Bernard I think it was you that sent images of a Maxtor PATA in a caddy. It had all the connections inside the caddy with a power source for transmitting to a PC or Laptop. Just what I need. Thanks. Have you got a buying link?

    Data transfer from dead PC

Thanks all. So I need a PATA enclosure. And the hdd is connected to something inside the enclosure. The enclosure is connected to the pc presumably by USB. But won't it require a power source? Has anyone got a close-up image of how the enclosure works?

    Data transfer from dead PC

A friend's "dated" pc won't power up. To help him I've followed all the online advice to no avail. He now has two choices get a professional firm to transfer files or allow me to buy kit to connect the hdd to my pc and transfer a few text files, that he took ages to create, to my pc. The former...

    Long self tapping screws

Looks good Blup. I recall a builder who found that a 2"x2" wood frame was not secured enough to a wall. He didn't dismantle it. All he did was to drill through the wood with a wood drill. Changed to a masonry drill and drilled further. He then withdrew the bit and got hold of a 3 1/2" screw...
