Decided to replace the socket , stopped tripping out . Still going to let a sparky double check things on the safe side.

Thanks for all the replies. Called 105 and had someone out last night , degradation underneath fuse housing and earth connection. Stripped back and change to new . Still got mcb tripping but while power was down checked a few sockets , think one needs attention by a sparky so await him coming(...

Would that cause sparking near the black box ( assuming it's the dno main fuse) when mcb is tripping? We have removed all plugs from sockets so no load at all and only tripping one mcb.

Hi all. Mcb tripping out with no load , upon trying to reset we get sparks from the near where mains feed comes into the property ( black box which says don't open) but before the consumer unit.. any ideas.
