    One brave journalist.

The press conference was apparently televised live. It would be interesting to know whether Steve's questions and the responses were fully transmitted.

    Cracks in Render.

All the survey will say is "Unable to comment on possible structural damage as wall is rendered and brickwork is inaccessible.":evil:

Nigel Farage admits his election promises were bogus

Basically, Farage has stated what he NEEDS to do to turn this country around and as we approach the next general election, he will be saying HOW he will do it. A no brainer........move on!

    Peace has broken out.

It will only take some breakaway militant to lob a couple of rockets into Israel to kick it all off again.

    Pliolite Paint Application

Hi All I am about to paint my external walls using pliolite paint. This is the first time I have used this type of paint and notice it is quite thick compared to water based paints. The concern I have is the use of rollers. My walls are previously painted pebbledash and aiming to use a long...

    Painting Exterior Walls in Winter

Application of pliolite paint requires surfaces to be dry. But how about damp conditions? Forecast for Jan/Feb is cold and wet. Any non rainy day will still be cold and damp. Unfortunately cannot wait for spring/summer as my scaffold is due to go up in the next couple of weeks for solar panels.

New floor and house insurance rules

House insurance includes a cost for the total rebuild of the buildings. If your new flooring does not up the cost beyond that already insured, I assume you do not need to inform the insurer.

    Epson XP-530 Error

When printing a 13 page document, the printer stopped and juddered a couple of lines. It then emitted a short grinding noise as if a gearing wheel was turning on a seized shaft. Printer then displayed error code Fx01 A quick look does not identify any jammed gearing/mechanism. Paper is all...

    Poor kid

I listened to the full sentencing brief by the judge today which took over an hour to deliver. The details of the torture which the parents administered was shocking. But once again lessons have not been learnt from previous similar cases. Social Services will no doubt claim overworked...

    Eucalyptus Tree

Several branches came down during the storm and there was worryingly a significant movement of the trunk. All three arborists who came out to view the tree (before the storm) confirmed a polarded eucalyptus would struggle, so have decide to remove it completely.

House Buying Saga - Am I Making a Huge Mistake?

There is no shame in pulling out as all purchases are usually 'subject to survey'. If you want the property, it would be logical to seek a price reduction to meet the cost of work identified by the survey.

    Farage, the PM we need?

Labour found it easy to criticise whilst in opposition. Finding it hard now to manage in office. 6 months on and the growth promised by Reeves is going negative :)

    Farage, the PM we need?

Reform's top team are all established successful businessmen. Our current government and main opposition are mainly career politicians. Seems a logical alternative ;)

How's your luck with Premium Bonds?

Logic suggests that as the number of monthly prizes reduce, investors will cash out their bonds, thus reducing the number of bonds in the pot. This then reduces the impact on my investment if I keep my bonds intact. ;)

House Buying Saga - Am I Making a Huge Mistake?

All depends whether your mindset is buying an investment or buying a home. I paid well over the odds for my current house as it was to be my final move. That was 20yrs ago and the only people who show an interest in the current value, are my adult kids!!!

    Eucalyptus Tree

There comes a point when a tree becomes unmanageable. When we moved in 20yrs ago it was a young tree but like all things, they grow and grow. Over the years I have had it trimmed to manage the canopy, but the main trunk continues on. You will see from the pic that it is leaning. Whilst the...
