Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

Yes, that has been the case throughout - though I've tried both ways.

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

Could loop in and loop out wires being the wrong way around cause this? If so, how would I even check which is the loop in vs out? I do have a multimeter.

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

I've been watching a video and it would appear the pendant is connected correctly based on the below screenshot:

Sorry, can you clarify which ones you are referring to - the pendant? If so, I think the photos should be able to show that, no? Apologies if I misunderstood. P.S - feel free to assume I'm a complete dumbass, so any checks to be done are probably worth doing lol.

Currently considering buying a new pendant and wiring that to see if it makes any difference

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

So, I went downstairs and replaced the 1-gang in my utility room with the quinetic. The lights worked perfectly fine, though it's worth mentioning they are spotlights - in case that makes any difference... here's a photo of the original switch: and the Quinetic wired up (and working fine)...

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

Firstly, thanks for the offer but I think it would be silly to make you go out of your way for that - I'll see if my parents may have some at home still. But just for info, I'm in Derby. Now, the idea of fitting it to a regular 1-gang light elsewhere is a very good idea... what sucks is all of...

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

When I say neutral, I simply mean... blue. I'm not an electrician so "switched live" is a difficult concept for me to understand, lol Assuming the blue at the switch is the switched-live, does the rose wiring look correct at all? I obviously don't know anything about "proper" wiring stuff and...

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

Maybe. I've no idea. Today my father came over and pulled out the 2nd lightswitch completely, ran a new cable from the rose to the lightswitch end I want. So now there's live going into the rose, live going out (I assume to the next room) and the 3rd cable (2 core+earth) going to the light...

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

Yeah I think I'm gonna see if I can get some different types of bulbs to try, maybe that's what it is. Though I do think it's a bit strange that is happens with two different ones already (though in a different way).

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

Okay so fun fact, using a regular 1-gang switch works fine. No dimmed light, nothing... I don't get why the Quinetic switch would cause this though...

That one was unfortunately chucked away already :(

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

Honestly the pull-cord switch fell apart pretty much as soon as it was taken off. I'll have a look tomorrow I guess. I do wonder though, if it ends up being the case that the light works fine with a normal switch; why the residual with the quinetic...

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

Think I'll pop to screwfix tomorrow and grab a regular 1-gag switch and see what happens when I use that one maybe? Hope I can wire it properly, though.

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

Flashing only happens with a CFL bulb in. With the led one, it just stays lit, dimly. I've also already replaced with a new switch, which presented with the same problem

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

I think you're looking a bit far back tbh, the latest is that while I (supposedly) correctly terminated the the switch end I no longer want, the issue I have is the residual current. The original problem I've had when I posted this thread is no longer a problem, if that makes sense? I just want...

Worth mentioning that he extended the rose wiring with a couple Wagos in a wago box

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

Question - could this actually be the cause of residual current? (I don't even know if that's what it's called) As for testing the light switch, when I had everything wired up - the light switch would turn the light on and off no problem, surely that's enough to confirm it works, no?

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

Right now, everything is disconnected as we were trying all sorts to get it to stop having the residual current thing. But otherwise, all the wiring would have been as previously described. The whole residual current thing was happening when the unwanted switch end was wired as red+red...

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

I've already tried a different LED as well as a CFL bulb. In the CFL's case, instead of dimming - it would flash every ~30 secs. I'm not sure what you mean an about the joint - how should it look? I already mentioned how the cabling was, not sure if thats enough? There's already a generic phot...
