Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

Hi, I have to pop out so won't be able to answer any more until later this evening but; At the end I want to terminate - 2 reds connected, blue and black are also connected (you can refer to the photos at the beginning if needed). The ceiling rose looks exactly the same as the photo. Yes, only...

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

Oh I've already chased out the main one unfortunately anyway and I've got an in-line receiver so kinda have to use it now (not that my problem has been fixed yet anyway)

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

I still want two switches, but since I'm renovating the whole room - I don't know exactly where I would want the "bed" switch. So instead, I have one "main" switch with a receiver and then once the room is done and I know where my bedside tables are going - I will be able to pair an additional...

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

Okay. Replacement switch arrived, same problem. So must be the wiring. What could be causing residual current to be running to the switch even when it's off?

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

I spoke to Quinetic tech support and they suggest it might be a defective switch, though I'm not convinced. I've started the replacement process but would really like to hear other opinions as I wonder if this was just me wiring something incorrectly somehow.

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

Sorry about the late reply. There's now only one switch. It would probably make more sense having read all the comments/progress in this post but of course I wouldn't expect you to waste your time like that haha. Basically one end I've connected up 2 red cables, 1 blue + 1 black - because I...

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

So, the flashing I was talking about before actually stopped once I'd turned the circuit off and on again - the dim lighting is a new thing. As for the other thing - the LED bulb is 13W~. Oddly enough, I plugged in a 20W CFL bulb and it was no longer dim after being turned off (so I got excited...

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

The light bulbs were there before for the past year, nothing's really changed in that regard. They're not "smart" or anything!

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

Welp, never mind. Something else came up and I only just noticed. When the light is off, the bulb turns off then turns back on - but very dimly. It's LED. I've tried a different (same brand) bulb and the same problem occurs. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

Thank you both! It would appear that the live in the rose that you mentioned was "just" loose enough that I think it made the difference. I ended up testing black + red again and it turned the light on. I then connected up the two reds and blue+black and tested the blue + red on the end I...

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

I turned the power on and touched the red & black together (on the side of the circuit where I want things to no longer work) and it didn't do anything. Sigh. Could it be that the rose isn't connected properly? It was originally elsewhere and my father moved it to the center of the room, but I...

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

Hi both, These are the instructions for the light switch, mine is the 1-gang: https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Technical/DataSheets/Quinetic2/QURS_Instructions.pdf I tried shorting the red and blue on the switch end I want to use and nothing happened. I'm no sparky but - could this be because the...

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

As for wiring a new twin + earth, I see that as very much the last resort as my loft is boarded up so it's very difficult to do anything from that side.

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

Hi, thanks for the advice. I did exactly that, connected the two reds together as well as the blue + black, the light switch is still not doing anything. Looking at the wiring diagram that came with it, while it says not to connect neutral - it says that it needs live in and out; does that help...

Need help disabling one light switch of a two-way circuit

Okay so I come to you guys again with yet another electrical problem. I'm in the process of renovating a bedroom which used to have two drawstring light-switches (wtf); one by the door and another where the bed would go. I would like to disable the one by the bed, as I don't know where I'd want...
