Mine too, never given it a second thought. I don't see how increasing the ventilation will work. The air temp in the room would need to be the same temp as the water to eliminate the problem.

How old is the house? Do you use an effective extactor that prevents condensation and excess humitity? Are all walls peeling, or just the (colder) external walls? Are the patches where there used to be something on the wall? Tile surround, mirror, cupboard, cistern?

This will probably give the opposite effect as the warmer air can hold more water vapour, so when the air contacts the cold cistern the vapour will condense. It would be less of a problem if the toilet isn't flushed so often then the water in it can warm up.

There is one guaranteed way of stopping the condensation and that is to pipe up your cistern to the hot supply. Ok , stop laughing you lot, I didn't say it was a very practical answer did I ? Mind you the toilet will stay a lot cleaner.

ps, making the room warmer will only speed up the proccess but if the toilet is not flushed as often in a warmer room it will warm up the water in the cistern and the condensation will eventually stop but the stop tap will allways suffer, insulate it it may look unsightly but lesser of 2 evils.

no solution that i have heard of....but trust me, most of the time it not a problem. when you are only flushing the toilet every other hour or similar, the cistern does not get cold enough (i have seen some exceptions) and the condensation wont happen

The reason would be mixer taps and showers needing balanced pressure, nowadays if it's all off a Combi then it's all at mains pressure anyway. You can get condensation all over your toilet cistern if you use the mains feed too.

Close coupled or separate wc and cistern? Dry everything off and flush the toilet a few times then feel around for the leak. Sometimes wc pans can be porous if they are not glazed properly. Leaks can be intermittent if the pot and cistern arent secure. Check your balltap isnt leaking...
