Set TV to watch Freeview (& Other Free Channels) Only

Will it have speakers and a remote control though? I don't know about now, but a few years ago, large OLED monitors were more expensive than TVs of the same size. It sounds counterintuitive but far more TVs than monitors are sold, thereby allowing for economies of scale.

Set TV to watch Freeview (& Other Free Channels) Only

When I read @Lucid 's post, I assumed that he meant no connection from a satellite or TV aerial to the telly, and not that he was saying that either needs to be physically removed from the property.

How to fill hole in a table?

I normally use waterbased artist paints mixed into 2 pack filler . Getting the colour right can take ages though. If it is a lighter colour I use the "clear" Tetrosil StoneFill 2 pack filler. It isn't clear, it looks more like honey but it requires less in the way of artist paint. It was first...

    Unstoppable Mold

Fair call. I have a number of friends with log burners. My, lay, understanding is that they burn at significantly higher temperatures and the exhaust fumes are less of an issue when they exit the chimney. I grew up in London. Hardly anyone had open fires. As a kid, I recall visiting family...

How am i best getting the mould out of this carpet

You can try spraying it with dilute vinegar. Leave it for an hour or so and then wipe it away. An old t-shirt will reduce the risk of leaving fibres behind. That said, wait for other replies. If the carpet is wool it may damage it further.

    Unstoppable Mold

I don't have a dog in this fight, but presumably their home was far more drafty and allowed more air in to take the fumes up the chimney?

    Unstoppable Mold

You could paint the walls with waterbased eggshell. No mold on the walls but the moisture will run down the walls and rot the flooring. Fitting air bricks high up will help but people often refuse to open the grill plates because they are worried about heating coats.

Fukui v Valspar B&Q mixer operative advice

From memory, I used a dilute coat of Dulux Trade matt emulsion first. I get your point about over rolling.. but every coat was the same, even the second coat of valspar (and the third where needed). That said, it might not have been the premium version. The extension was about 8-10m long and...

Refitting a fallen kitchen cupboard to a plasterboard stud wall

Fair enough, but if the rail is the full (internal) width of the of the unit and you are hitting two upright joists, what is gained by adding a nogging? You do this kind of stuff day in day out, I may do it once a year but I find the full length brackets to be great. I have, previously used...

Set TV to watch Freeview (& Other Free Channels) Only

I thought than catch up iPlayer was legal? That said, from memory, when you sign up you have to confirm that you have a licence. I am glad that we have the BBC, I appreciate that other people here will disagree with me.

As regular contributors, are we a form of let me google that for you?

Pretty much, yes. It "thinks" it will show you what you "want" to see. You can use Google on different browsers and get different responses (assuming that you are not logged into your google account). In my search response, it gave me what it thought I wanted to see. My search and your's...

Refitting a fallen kitchen cupboard to a plasterboard stud wall

BTW, 1mm is as cheap as a fiver. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hanging-Kitchen-Cabinet-Cupboard-Mounting/dp/B0FHHB5ZSK/ Add a couple of quid for a junior hacksaw. A fiver+ for proper hacksaw.

    How do you make tea?

I am tea bag in the cup kinda person. I put the milk in first. Granted it takes longer to brew, but you get zero scum on the top. IMO, the tea is the variable, the milk should be a constant. I put the same of amount milk in the cup each day, I remove the tea bag once the colour is "correct". And...

Set TV to watch Freeview (& Other Free Channels) Only

AFAIK, if you are watching free to air channels (in real time) you need a licence. You might be better off with Prime stick or Roku. I am not sure though. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be along soon.

Refitting a fallen kitchen cupboard to a plasterboard stud wall

I often use Hafele but if you are purchasing a 1mm long rail and cutting it down, I would just ebay it. It is just a length of metal with holes in it. My advice would be to use a slightly blunt drill bit to drill a series of holes into the plasterboard. The blunt bit will struggle to drill into...

    Identifying PZ and PH screw

You are correct. As an aside, JIS screws have a little dot on them. The interwebs are full of motorbike owners (with Japanese bikes) who want to remove the screws without leaving visible marks on the screwheads. Through them, I discovered that Vessel are akin to the likes of Wera and Wiha...
