Oil combi not giving hot water

Hi all, I’ve been having to re-do the majority of the pipework to the upstairs of my house and most recently have had to cut the heating circuit pipes a couple of meters from the boiler. As I’m also having to live in the place while this goes on understandably hot water would be a bonus, so...

    Repositioning control unit

thanks for the final word JBP I've talked to a few sparkies today and none of them seem opposed to cutting and using a 45 amp jb to extend the original cooker circuit cable - is this 100% dodgy? They all can certify their work so in theory it cant be, can it?

again excuse my lack of understanding but are we talking about what the 13amp’d spur can handle, in which case if I did 2 amp’d spurs that would be okay

    Repositioning control unit

Bu*ger, i could be showing some lack of understanding but would it make a difference if their sources were split between 2 outlets - make 2 spurs? Unfortunately there's no gas in the area nope

No one disagree with that man! Sounds excellent JBP you’re a star So I could do a fused (which I guess qualifies as an omnipolar breaker as I couldn’t find a definition of omnipolar) spur from the nearest socket - which could also be switched like a control unit, and both the oven and hob could...

    Repositioning control unit

First off, thanks for you post BAS – you can be useful! Although I ‘m going wrong somewhere with the drop off wizard, my consumer unit is 100 A, 240 V so should make my wattage 24000 or am I going wrong? Anyway maybe with a twinge of irony I’ve looked up the manual of the built in oven I was...

    Repositioning control unit

i'll er, just re post the last question that i asked before things got touchy, ta I'm more than willing to take experienced advice as gospel.. but where possible i'm trying to keep costs down. Is the 10mm a requirement with the distance or more of a future proofing thing that's being rolled...

Yeah well, i only found out about the legislation a few hours ago needless to say i haven't checked out all aspects, cant be expected to do everything straight away or know its variable across the country (and lets be honest it can't vary that much) On the basis you can have a survey done...

    Repositioning control unit

okay thanks for that ban all sheds. are you going to actually be useful and say what the charge is or am i right in thinking you're a sparky who doesn't like to see someone doing it themselves..in which case check the title of the site you're on mate

    Repositioning control unit

Sure - I'm more than willing to take experienced advice as gospel.. but where possible i'm trying to keep costs down. Is the 10mm a requirement with the distance or more of a future proofing thing that's being rolled out in new builds, only its £65 and i was only going for a modest cooker and...

    Repositioning control unit

that was my suspicion in an earlier post ta bongos, however not getting the same people come back to me - at least not yet I know i can get more 6mm than i need for £30 does this mean i could expect a pro to do it for £100 or less? I can't imagine the LABC submission to be more than £70...

    Repositioning control unit

    Repositioning control unit

Oh sorry, including your latter work around - would that be something i could do or if a professional had to do it, for work and materials used would it essentially be as expensive as replacing the lot - should tell you roughly how much cable would be needed really hey..;) i would say about...
