    Immersion Heater Question

    My hot water is heaated by an immersion heater. The water is very very hot all the time. I looked at the stats on the immersion they were both at 55, is this the reason why or could it be something else?

    Right, just went to sort this out, the oven has been screwed & glued in so am unable to see what size it is. Theres a sticker on the inside front of the door that says 2.3kW. What size will the cable be? And do I need a 10A mcb or 16A. I have a spare 10A.........

    Your replies are much appreciated. The hob supply is just for the igniter yes. I'll just downgrade the MCB and should be fine. Thanks.

    Off the top of my head the oven load was about 12-16 amps. I'm pretty sure the circuit MCB is a 32A. So is it ok to put in a smaller MCB eg a 20A even though the cable is a 6mm?

    The cable from the consumer unit to the ccu is obviously way too big but I can't see any problem with the cable from the oven to the ccu as it's pre-wired when oven was bought. thanks for your reply by the way.

    I used to have a electric cooker and hob in my kitchen. I've now replaced the cooker and it's only a single oven instead leaving the old hob still in. The hob is plugged into the same 13A socket it's always been plugged in to, with is spurred from switched spur. Now I have an empty cooker...
