many thanks indeed for the replys it all makes sense now. Just so I have it clear i just take the permenant lives and wire them together into a connector block inside a choc box and just leave them at that they dont connect to anything on the new light

Hi this is my 1st post here. I have just aquired 2 new halogen lamps for my lounge and they have a LNE block on them for the wiring and when I lookk at the ceiling rose that is fitted there are a good 6/8 wires up there. I am a fairly competent diy'er and have done some electrics before...
