What Type Of Push Fit Connector Is This?

Thanks Robin. I have actually removed a few of these connectors as whomever had put them in had them stacked on top of each other, i.e. one for sink, one for shower, one for bath. So I can try dismantling the one pictured to see if I can get the insert out. As to cutting the pipe on the...

What Type Of Push Fit Connector Is This?

Thank you - It definitely wasn't a plastic insert. Is this an old style? Anyway I just pushed the pipe over it and locked it up! It seemed okay but should I take it apart again and try and get them out and push in whilst attached to the piping? Or do you think it will be okay as is?

What Type Of Push Fit Connector Is This?

Any ideas anyone? It seems to have some 15mm copper piping inside the fixtures. The flexi piping going into it, which was floplast, didn't have any inserts as it just went around this in the fixture. Screwed shut and released in exactly the same way as speedfit otherwise...

Controlling Water Supply To Bathroom While Removing Bath

Thanks, I've seen them - But what I was wondering is if there was a type I could fit directly to the side of tee or whether I'd need to cut a bit of pipe to put between the two?

Controlling Water Supply To Bathroom While Removing Bath

Afternoon Folks I have a problem in that I'd like to remove our bath for access reasons whilst replacing a leaking lead pipe. The stack in the corner looks like this:- First of all, the white 15mm flexi piping is Floplast so would that mean these must be Floplast tees as well? Or could I...

Cut Cast Iron Elbow To 40mm Waste Pipe Connection

Thanks, that's actually a great point. I also meant to say in my last post that the toilet soil pipe feeds separately into the main sewer line, so there shouldn't be any danger in it having backed up water sitting there... My only other concern using that reducer without a shear band is rodents...

Cut Cast Iron Elbow To 40mm Waste Pipe Connection

I just meant that if I went with a Fernco adapter such as the one Hugh had linked to above, ie. https://www.pipekit.co.uk/products/fernco-adptor-coupling-30-35-38-43mm?variant=55239007928699 (which is pretty similar to the B&Q EPDM one I linked to in the OP) then it can't be stainless steel...

Cut Cast Iron Elbow To 40mm Waste Pipe Connection

Thanks Rab. If that's expert opinion I'm happy to go with that. Only thing is with this being a reducer, I guess the rubber can't be sheathed / banded which - again, no expert myself - I'm sure I'd read was favourable. That's another story in itself! Really the whole stack should have...

Cut Cast Iron Elbow To 40mm Waste Pipe Connection

No worries - Actually, as soon as I'd sketched that out and wrote that I thought it was 3" I starting thinking - hang on! Best I could find was some guy on a screwfix forum saying he was going to cut the fins off and go for it anyway! I was looking at those Fernco ones as well. Maybe it would...

Cut Cast Iron Elbow To 40mm Waste Pipe Connection

Thanks Rob - Yes, you're right, I was imagining that DC1 connector completely the wrong way around. And yes, I think the cast iron is more like 3 inches rather than 4. Anyway, assuming I can get something similar for 3 inches, I think I'm looking at something like this:- Is that right? If that...

Cut Cast Iron Elbow To 40mm Waste Pipe Connection

Thanks Hugh. I think I get what you're saying there but I think that would mean putting that DC-1 connector over the cast iron pipe after I'd cut it. Not sure if you if you seen my previous post but I'm looking at making a cut in the cast iron branch about here:- So I probably won't be on a...

Cut Cast Iron Elbow To 40mm Waste Pipe Connection

Thanks Rob. Do you think doing it like that or using some kind of bung would be a better approach? I was thinking I must be able to get some kind of rubber adapter for 40mm pipes which I could push down snuggly inside the cast iron. I'm not sure if I would seal around that or whether even it's...

Cut Cast Iron Elbow To 40mm Waste Pipe Connection

Good Evening All I have a problem with a leaking old lead pipe feeding from our bathroom to cast iron downpipe which I previous posted about here:- https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/leak-from-bathroom-sink-bath-waste-coming-underneath-old-external-wall-cast-iron-joint.649279/ I got some good...

Leak From Bathroom Sink / Bath Waste Coming Underneath Old External Wall Cast Iron Joint

Hi there - Thanks for the reply. Sorry about the lighting - Had flash on but it's pretty dark up there. It's the old exterior of the house, so I think the wall is cavity - there will be brickwork on the outside and cinder block on the inside / bathroom side. I just posted another pic in my...

Leak From Bathroom Sink / Bath Waste Coming Underneath Old External Wall Cast Iron Joint

Thanks again for the further comments and advise re the bathroom side. Whatever I use there will be a pretty short term solution. In fact I might just bite the bullet and replace the sink / bath if cutting out the pipework anyway... Re what you were saying there about left of the visible...

Leak From Bathroom Sink / Bath Waste Coming Underneath Old External Wall Cast Iron Joint

Thanks Rob. Yeah, the cast iron at the wall is the bit I'm most worried about, whether it's still going to be connected to the pipe from the bathroom and whether it will come away. Very limited access to the left hand side there were it comes out. My plan at the point I highlighted was to get...

Leak From Bathroom Sink / Bath Waste Coming Underneath Old External Wall Cast Iron Joint

Good Afternoon Folks I have a tricky issue here which I am hoping someone may be able to offer some advice / recommendations with:- We have a leak which has developed somewhere in the piping between our upstairs bathroom and the joint to the old cast iron elbow (? sorry, think that's the term)...
