Connect WC pan to Underground Soil Pipe

Norcon: The angled bend should be vertical otherwise as in this case it makes it more difficult to connect to the pan. The pan connector he supplied wont go on the WC, its too tight that's why hes left it. Too late to change the bend without a mess, its been concreted. Who's version is...

Connect WC pan to Underground Soil Pipe

I really think you are all making to much of this access and ventilation thing. My next door neighbour has recently made an almost identical WC installation in his parents home without vents and access points and he says it works fine. I think overall it suits my needs and is reasonable value...

Connect WC pan to Underground Soil Pipe

The cowboy has left without connecting the WC to the new soil pipe. I have paid him because I had seen him offer up the pan to the soil pipe and it seemed to fit, from the angle I was observing, but I am going to have problems. The pan connector is the wrong size + the new soil pipe is not...

I cant find the BR download that you refer to. Would you have a direct link? And how much do they charge to inspect the job?

Connect WC pan to Underground Soil Pipe

My builder said... 'As I have a vent stack to the upstairs toilet and an open drain access point about 2 metres from this new WC all on the same pipe work, I don't need another stack or AAV'. I am inclined to agree with him and have proceeded with job as planned. He also said... 'He has a...

Connect WC pan to Underground Soil Pipe

OK, so I need a vent. Another point to raise with the 'builder', he never mentioned a vent would be required. Would an air admittance valve solve the problem? Behind the WC pan is a single brick cavity, would it be possible to attach an air admittance valve to the soil pipe as it rises from...

No vent up wall is planned. When did that reg come in?

Connect WC pan to Underground Soil Pipe

The reason its below ground and through the wall is because I don't want to trip over the pipe. In any case, he's got the entry angle wrong and needs to lower the up pipe to fit a 90 angle up to the WC pan connector. The flow is away from the viewer as seen in the photo with drain cover and...

Connect WC pan to Underground Soil Pipe

Not sure if an inspection cover and vent is needed in this case. There is a large open access point just a couple of yards from this new connection. My main concern is no leak test was done and the builder really struggled connecting the pipes which may have weakened the seal on the...

Connect WC pan to Underground Soil Pipe

Got a 'builder' to do the job... Take a look at these pics... He bit off more than he could chew with this one! 'hacked' one end of the clay pipe. Didn't do a water leak test before filling with soil and rubble. Got the pipe measurements wrong. Got the WC entry angles wrong. I should have done...

Connect WC pan to Underground Soil Pipe

Someone told me I need to cut a hole in the wall of the clay pipe and attach a plastic pipe. Is this OK or should I cut a section from the clay pipe and insert a plastic T.

Connect WC pan to Underground Soil Pipe

Would like info on how to connect a new WC pan to an underground soil pipe. The soil pipe is under approx 2" concrete and roughly 4ft down and about 2.5ft off the WC external wall, so there is a foundation to get through as well. What would be the best tools to get through all this concrete and...

Tricity Bendix AW1560W noisy when spinning.

I don't think these lads had any special tools, they just used a soft head mallet and chisel. I had to provide them with an old cotton sheet that just happened to be handy, presumably to protect the drum. They had no cleaning stuff so I let them off and cleaned up after they left. They seem to...

Tricity Bendix AW1560W noisy when spinning.

Two 'lads' came to fix it (which is always worrying), and it took them about an hour to replace the entire back half including the plastic drum housing and heater. Apart from oily marks left on the washa and door frame (they took it out side... it was nice sunny day) plus not taking away the old...

Tricity Bendix AW1560W noisy when spinning.

I decided this is too big for me to handle. I have taken out insurance via Curry's costing £129 for the year and they arranged for someone to call and fix it. They came yesterday (16th May) just to see what parts were needed. Apparently it needs new bearings, shaft and spider which will come...

Hi and thanks for the fast and detailed replies. Looks complicated, are any special tools required.

Tricity Bendix AW1560W noisy when spinning.

I think the bearings are about to fail on my noisy Tricity Bendix AW1560W washer. Can someone with the knowledge talk me through the repair procedure please. The bearing will cost about £23.35 plus postage from Partmaster, but will I need the bearing seal as well.
