    Stud wall first time

You seat idea might result in a very narrow seat once you have the insulation in there. I would keep the stud wall flat (hope that makes sense) infront of that ingress so the whole wall is flat. The ingress gap then filled with extra insulation. And then put in a large (deep) windowsill. That...

    Led strip for uplighting

I would replace the socket with a slimline blanking plate, undercoated and painted to match your wall. The (likely two pairs of cables) would be joined using wago or screw blocks. https://www.screwfix.com/p/lap-2-gang-blanking-plate-polished-chrome/67316 More here...

    Infared transceiver: HS21A011 IR transceiver

Looking at it again, I think Random was correct in that it is a simple break beam sensor. And not my suggestion of remote control. It could be used for data, but one way and slow data. Sfk

Raspberry Pi 5 HDMI - no display

As you are pinging it. Have you tried using a browser on another computer and accessing the Pi using 192.168.1.xxx and seeing what is operating? Sfk

    Infared transceiver: HS21A011 IR transceiver

I presume it is similar to these devices in the following links. Used for one way communication, eg remote controls. Or as a break beam detector sensor for garage door. The two wire device being the transmitter and the other three wire being the receiver...

    Internal Wall Insulation

Sorry but not fully sure as I am a DIYer. And I did look into this. Sorry to say that everyone has different ideas. I personally tried to minimise space at front and back of PIR simply to make sure I maximised room space as every mm counted. I also made sure that there was no air movement by...

    Internal Wall Insulation

I would say yes. My (as a DIYer) only putting 25mm of PIR on outside wall of bathroom significantly reduced condensation on tiles. I used 25mm x25mm wood from Wickes, frame screwed into wall (8mm masonry drill bit through wood and into wall and hammer them in). Used frame spacers to ensure all...

Which size allen key bolt do I need?

Yes - However I am presuming Chinese cheese bolts is what are already in the chair, which itself is likely from china. I would have recommended better if they were looking to bolt down say a pagoda. Either way - they ordered other bolts (perhaps my ebay or Screwfix A2 Stainless steel...

    Bathroom light trackdown issue.

When I had this issue I also made the whole length of pipe and the fan as straight as possible between the ceiling hole and the roof hole. Looking at you photo I would sugegst you consider mounting the fan on the wall and putting the Duct pipe as straight as possible. SFK

Correct testing of small batteries with a multi-meter.

Always good to have two multimeters.... So my suggestion is this £12 Amazon multimeter has 1.5V and 9V battery tests that I have found worked well (and easier to use than trying to hold a resistor and test leads). Unfortunately no longer for sale on Amazon. But I think old new stock being sold...

    New Dimmer switches failing

What brand dimmer did you buy? And is the led pendant dimmable? But typically best to buy a quality dimmer, and normal suggestion for is the V-Pro (also available at Toolstation and Amazon https://www.screwfix.com/p/varilight-v-pro-1-gang-2-way-led-dimmer-switch-white/94816

    Candy Washing Machine Help

Sorry to say that we did not find a fix. (Note that ours is not same machine as yours). And we only later found reason in manual when it mentioned reducing spin speed if drum unbalanced.

    Candy Washing Machine Help

My washing machine does that when it decides it is not balanced. Often seems to happen with a single heavy item. It seems to be a normal (annoying) function to save the bearings.
