    A shower needs to be on it's own circuit. Size of cable and protective device depends on kW rating of shower. Leave it to the electrician. He should be qualified (part p) to do any work in a bathroom (which is classed as a special location).

    Do LABC's charge a fixed price or is there a 'sliding scale' depending on the amount of work needed to be done? e.g. Would they charge the same for adding an additional socket in a kitchen as they would for a full re-wire?

    By prior notification do you mean contacting LABC? This would incur a charge out of all proportion to the scale of the job.

    If you've got 2391 then I don't think you have to do 2392. The NICEIC will insist you do the 2382 sooner rather than later but you should only need to do the one day update course (i think this is now called 2382-20).

    rewire quote advise please.

    I agree with equitum. 1450 for a full rewire does seem suspiciously low. About 2000 would be reasonable for a quality job including materials, wiring, testing, certification, etc. Two workers could probably do 1st fix in a day on a 2 bed house but that depends on amount of power, lighting...
