    You were right, it's a metal backbox. I'm using a drywall box, face plate has 2 twisted earth going into it. Now I'm just wondering about the small earth going from face plate to backbox, I won't be able to terminate this on the drywall box. Do I not need this piece of do I need to terminate it...

    Ya it's just my fear of doing anything electrical has me over thinking it. Want to do this job over next 2 days and know I'd be waiting weeks for an electrician. Intend to reuse the existing box, both wall are stud walls so am assuming it will be a dry lining box. Thanks
