How to insulate behind sloping ceiling?

This is what I am thinking of doing. Might need to wait for this virus mess to be over with, can't seem to find much online right now that isn't 100mm thick, which I think might be a bit too much and not leave enough of a gap.

How to insulate behind sloping ceiling?

Would something like this do the trick? https://www.wickes.co.uk/Knauf-Insulation-Earthwool-Dritherm-Cavity-Slab-37-Standard-100mm/p/113735 Hard to find anything in these plagueish days.

How to insulate behind sloping ceiling?

Thanks for the feedback! Is that slab material easy to cut in? I assume it's a bit more solid than the typical "role" material? What is your view on this sort of solution? https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/insulate-sloping-ceiling-from-loft.491007/

What sort of material is this and how do I go about redecorating?

This is sadly impossible for me at this point, especially with everyone locked in the house, bathroom needs to be up and running! I did manage to access the area in the loft and found no insulation in this corner where the shower sits! I've moved the discussion to the appropriate forum, maybe...

How to insulate behind sloping ceiling?

Better picture attached. No insulation whatsoever, just lathe&plaster, open space and roof! This the shower corner as well, most of the other sections have some styrofoam wedged in!

How to insulate behind sloping ceiling?

All rooms upstairs have a sloping ceiling and these sections of the loft are lacking in insulation. Not much of an issue anywhere besides the bathroom, where the shower head is sitting directly below the sloping ceiling! Even though we always leave the window open during and after showering...

What sort of material is this and how do I go about redecorating?

The "grill" does not come all the way through to the bathroom, if that is what you are asking, it's only visible from outside the house. I believe the house has a cavity on the ground floor, but not on the upper floor (where the bathroom is). I haven't actually drilled into anywhere to find out...

What sort of material is this and how do I go about redecorating?

We have already stripped this material off of other rooms, and it made no mess really. It kind of feels like a very thick paper, it's a rough texture but flat underneath, more or less came off in large sections with a paint scraper going underneath it. Not much in terms of dust, not that I recall.

What sort of material is this and how do I go about redecorating?

Yes, there is a sort of grill/airbrick on the side of the house, where the bathroom is located.

What sort of material is this and how do I go about redecorating?

Hey, they told me owning a house would be expensive. I still went ahead with it, didn't I? ;)

What sort of material is this and how do I go about redecorating?

Yes, it's definitely lath and plaster, we already had some rooms completely renovated, and our plasterer pointed that out to us during the works. The ceiling feels very sturdy, there is no movement at all. I did go up in the loft, but it's impossible for me to reach this section of the...

What sort of material is this and how do I go about redecorating?

Our main focus right now are other sections of the house, so I am not chuffed about having to spend too much time and money on the bathroom. Above post shows a few more pictures. Since the issue seems limited to a small area, would I get away with scraping that section of the ceiling (with the...

What sort of material is this and how do I go about redecorating?

Here are a couple of pictures that show in extra detail what is happening to the ceiling. You can see in a little section what is underneath, as well as the overall affected area. The "paint" is starting to flake away, it's very crunchy and sturdy though, if that make any sense... Few notes: *...

What sort of material is this and how do I go about redecorating?

Most rooms in my house have this sort of paint/textured product covering the ceilings (attached in pictures). My bathroom has this as well, it's a small bathroom that is south facing with a window that I open for a few hours after showering, yet, the section above the shower has started to...

Paint flaking off and stains starting to appear...

Update on this: I have left a dehumidifier and fan going in this room for the last few days. I also noticed the so called "salts/efflorescence" coming from that area where the paint was flaking. I have kept wiping the "salt" off and it now seems like no more is coming through! I've been taking...

Paint flaking off and stains starting to appear...

Another picture of the area that I found, after we removed the wallpaper and the picture rails, no obvious signs of water damage, unless someone here has another take?

Paint flaking off and stains starting to appear...

That's it! Seems too coincidental that a lot of the problematic area is where this old picture rail used to sit in.

Paint flaking off and stains starting to appear...

All the rooms used to have these wooden decorative strips, the actual name for these escapes me now, I have attached a picture from another room that had these as well. The room in question also had these, and in the plastering photo you can see where we pulled them off - The red circle I...

Paint flaking off and stains starting to appear...

The room in question was replastered around the 8th of January, mist coat went around the 9th of Feb and full coat about a week later on the 16th. We let it dry for a full month basically, lots of ventilation and a fan going, but yes, the room is north facing and quite cold without heating on...
