If i can add another symptom which might help point to a problem; The pop out cut off switch on the main panel next to switches will not push in and hold in, the cut off light is not illuminated and neither of the green/amber leds are illuminated. Main switch neon is on.

OK, pressure diff valve seems to operate OK, pin moves out with a great deal of force. I pushed in the GV pin manually, still no light up. Reassembled.

OK I'm an idiot - yeah, found it, Both the switches seem OK, here's how they are acting; Off - bottom switch in (spring loaded plunger) top switch out. CH both in. DHW both out. I've got BG coming Monday morning at £192 fixed price repair, no fix - no fee. if that fails i've got another contact...

Both switches?. There's only ever been one little red microswitch in the position shown...

Thanks namsag, according to my book this button is located behind the LH side panel, but before taking it all off i couldn't see any wires go that way - there is however an identical looking device (black plastic with rubber buttton and a screw either side) behind and to the right of the pump...

The cam valve is acting correctly, everything seems to be mechanically 'right' when demanding CH or DHW, flue fan works, pump works, etc. but just no 'tick, tick, tick, whoomph' :-)

Thanks GasGuru - Yeah that was sticking (has done in the past), but this time seems something else has gone wrong - Can't get ignition anymore :? now she won't give us hot water at all, maybe it's time to admit defeat and get a new one???

Oh good grief!...... yep the rotary cam had stuck, should've looked there first as i had a HW issue a few years back had to change diaphragm and adjust this switch!. Well Thank you so much for such a prompt reply and subsequent quick fix.

Hi Folks, new to this great forum... Put the heating on last night and found the rads stayed cold. Investigated to find the boiler not responding to commands from timer or 'summer winter' switch. The system tries to fire the boiler (which immediately shuts off) and the pump runs continuous...
