Yes switch plate has a earth cable going to it, but the metal back plate needs to be earthed too though doesn't? So I've just attached a single core to the little hook and back to the earth terminal on the switch. Just wanted to know if I've done it correct

OK so the tenant fitted metal switches and there's metal back boxes, the back box isn't the earthed so Ive earthed them myself I couldn't find any contact points so used this tiny lil hook instead, will this be ok?

I've been so busy with work, had yesterday free though so went to the house and looked at all the new lights the tenant put up, found a loose wire on the light in the living room, got it working now, thank you guys for the all help you were all great

Yes I've tested it before use on other switches in the house and the tester works, I've now just tested the celling lights and they are also not live either

OK so used the pen and the link wire isn't live any other suggestions please?

Yes correct both lights don't work, I've also checked consumer unit. I have a multimeter in garage somewhere might be a problem finding it I also have a non contact voltage tester pen

No it doesn't work neither of the light switches are working

No it does nothing, bulbs have been changed on both lights still no good, really confused
