    New lights - flickering

Be carefull using rotary machinery(drills lathes etc) depending on their speed the flicker can make them apear stationary. As has been stated high frequency balasts are better and are used in workshops for the reasons above.

Also check your electic supply. 6 electric showers all running at once is a huge load, excluding any other electrical loads. The property will probably need a supply upgrade and your DNO will need to be told about your proposed electrical needs. There may not be enough spare capacity in the...

The two elements are usually one for E7 and one for daytime boost. Also you will need an installer with G3 qualification to install this for you. This is not suitable for diy installation.

connecting 3/8" pipe to 10mm pipe?

The Boat Safety Scheme does accept hard solder (silver solder) joints on gas pipes. Soft solder is not allowed under any circumstances. A 3/8 olive in the bubble tester will seal without any problem.

    Ford transit elec outlets

I am pretty certain that they are the same as you would find on an articulated trailer for the lights. The tractor unit has the cables permanently connected to it and plugs into the trailer.

    Ford transit elec outlets

They look like commercial vehicle trailer sockets. Maybe they are in parallel with the other tow bar sockets? This would enable the transit to tow a cable drum trailer or similar and plug strait in to the road lights on the trailer.

Government wants competence tests before you can own a dog

I refer you to a culling thread nearby  Culling is one answer, it would be better to prevent them breeding in the first place :D

Government wants competence tests before you can own a dog

The problem i see with this idea is that the people who want to own dangerous dogs will ignore any licencing regulations. Once again the law abiding majority will be penalised for the behavour of those in society who don't care about anything or anyone.

    "Warning Notice" from "Boiler Engineer"

As long as the plug top has a 3amp fuse then its ok. Its not the way most installers would connect a boiler to the mains but its not dangerous. It just looks like the installer didn't care. :?
