    UFH house seems cold

Hi, the heating has been running since 2am (having gone off at 10pm) last night. It’s not particularly cold outside and whilst topping up the boiler seems to have nudged up a few rooms a degree or two, some are still at 19 degrees now - considering heat has been delivered for 8.5 hours, this...

    UFH house seems cold

Thank you - do I literally just change the DAB to 3 or do I need to do anything first, like switch the boiler off etc.?

    UFH house seems cold

Could topping up the boiler fix the issue? Perhaps I should wait 24 hours to see if it’s made any difference to the temperature?

    UFH house seems cold

Hi Dan, below is the dataplate info. Loop 9 is for “Bed 3” which isn’t helpful as it’s a 4 bed house and most of the rooms are the same size! Should I move the DAB to speed 3 then? I’m in Bath now, moved from Reading, I should update my profile.

    UFH house seems cold

Hi Dan, which silver data plate do you mean? On the hot water cylinder? - I can’t see a data plate. I see what you mean about loop 9 being low on the original pic but it seems to have filled up since topping up the boiler. Forgive me, I don’t know what the blending valve is, do these pics help?

    UFH house seems cold

Yeah OK I just googled it, I know what you mean now. There is no expansion vessel anywhere else.

    UFH house seems cold

I’m sorry I don’t know what an expansion valve is :) How can I tell if there’s another one somewhere? I’m guessing the only other place could be upstairs in the airing cupboard? See pic...

    UFH house seems cold

I’m guessing it’s not coincidence that the gauges are rising having topped up the boiler?

    UFH house seems cold

Hi - we have a gas boiler (about 2 years old - Worcester Greenstar). The house is 2 years old. It runs the hot water and water-UFH throughout the house. As the weather’s become colder I’ve noticed that the thermostats in the rooms struggle to ever reach 20 degrees even though the UFH is...

    Programmable element for towel rail/heater

That looks just like what I need - great find, thank you. Any idea if towel rail elements are interchangeable - is it a standard size screen fitting?

    Programmable element for towel rail/heater

Thank you - I presume that that white box would need to be fitted in place of the fused switch in the hallway? (See pic) I couldn’t fit it in the bathroom in place of the white panel under the towel rail? (See pic)

    Programmable element for towel rail/heater

Hi, I have an electric towel rail in my bathroom. The trouble is that I can only control it manually - on/off via the fused switch on the other side of the wall in the hallway. What I want is to program it so that it comes on a x time and goes off at y time. The only options that I can find...

    Dodgy Dimmer?

Managed to take out an on/off module from the kitchen - see pic. Popped it in the dining room switch and it works perfectly!! The one in the kitchen controls low voltage under-cabinet lights. For safety’s sake is there any reason why I can’t use exactly the same module for ceiling lights...

    Dodgy Dimmer?

The shelves are built-in, it was be more of a faff to take the lighting out I think than just replacing the switch.

    Dodgy Dimmer?

Thank you, if poss I would love those in brushed chrome just to match other switches in the house, I’ll take a look. Thanks!!
