My first go at a new shed

Cost wise I've been really lucky, the base cost around £50 from a wood recycling yard & the framing timber I got off a mate who's boss ordered 4x2 instead of 4x1 so he sold it to me for £100 & the best bit of all is the cladding is free as there is a company near me that makes summer houses...

My first go at a new shed

Well just a quick update. The frame is 99% done for the walls, getting the timber for the roof & to finish the stud work both sides of the door frame today, & I've started the cladding.

When I start putting tongue & groove on my shed whats the best way to do it, start at the top & work down or start at the bottom & work up?

My first go at a new shed

I went for OSB as it was only £6 a sheet for 18mm & was in a lot better nick than the ply. Yep it will sit a few feet over the top of the fence as it's having an apex roof

    Stripped seized bold head :(

A set like this will do it, one of the only removal tools that work 100% (if you can get it on the head) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Irwin-Bolt-Grip-Remover-Expansion/dp/B000QW6K8I

My first go at a new shed

This is my first project, a new shed. I got the base finished today, but has been a real pain as I used reclaimed timber, so it was trim a bit here & add a bit there. I hope to start the framing in the next few weeks.

    Selco membership

Well I did a home made headed letter & got my membership card, what a doddle & found out they do 4x2 2.4 meter lengths for £3.94 inc VAT where as the cheapest timber yard near me is £7.20 inc VAT, so not to bad for me if I only use it for the 4x2 for my shed.

    Big toenail removed

Pretty tame I know but I when I went in for the snip & had the local anesthetic jabbed in the Doc didn't wait long enough for it to kick in on one side, so when he cut in to my sack with the scalpel it hadn't numbed it so when I jumped  he said we'll wait a few more minutes then
