So should I tell the builder to wait with the raking out of the mortar until its warmer and we can do pointing too or is it ok to rake out and leave for a week til its warmer to point?

Thanks for the advice The builder wants to 'play it by ear' grind it all out saturday then repoint monday or later if its too cold Is this ok?

thanks for your replies. i will do tomorrow. sorry yes the bay not the window itself. do the cover flashings over the edge of the bay need to be secured down with anything (pic 1 and 2)? it seems to have lifted off the brickwork slightly.

Hi there We have a leaking bay window. Is the lead coming off the side of the wall a cause or should we be looking for something else? What would you use to seal it? Pics attached Many thanks Tim
