are you trying to point the verge in one go. you are suppose to back bed the verge first scrape it back so it's about an inch from the inside the fibreboard. let it go off then point it fully to the edge...

Beautiful job there..only thing i don't like is the scalloped lead but defo 10/10 for the wood work...

how do you seal the seams did you use a heat gun and roller...

you must run a tile batten up either side 0f the grp then nail through edge of grp and batten in to each spar do not flatten the grp on the ribbs a lot of lads have done this at work and the valley has pi$$ed in

no valley boards required for grp valley.just run a strip of felt down the valley,wider than the grp.lay grp up valley and run tile battens either side of grp.you must run battens either side of grp to support it...

copper wire is they way forward,it's what we have always used.lead straps are a terrible way to repair a slate and look unsightly. by the way your roof needs stripping & recovering...

Id go for the single Ply route my self.built up felt roofing is old hat now.never rated torch on.seen loads of jobs where it not stuck properly.maily seams and flashings.hot stuff is the best method for felt roofs..

oh iv'e got plenty of nailing to do,as im a roofer.it just needed the o ring oiling and some thing needed re-aligning.works great now chuffed to bits. i even contacted itw products by letter and have heard nowt from them.v poor customer service..warranty means F All...

I've just printed that picture off to show the lads at work.not just the lead work, but the block work on that verge is utterly atrocious wants the tiles stripped off. the block work sraightning up. lead re-fixed properly,that girth of lead should be fixed with screws and lead domes to support...

we do work for all the major house builders barrat persimmion millers etc. all roof tiles are nailed once and clipped,all ridge tiles bedded with mortar and nailed.its the only way for a belt and braces job...

looks like a nice old house with charachter.dont replace it with anything else other than lead
