24 Dec - update - Grundfos pump still runs constantly

Hi Picasso. I want a full explanation of what the fault is - it’s quite clearly not the components - but a darn wiring live feed fault somewhere. Surely 4 Drayton actuators can’t be faulty? They’re only lasting 48 hours before the fault starts again. If electric wasn’t so damn dangerous, I’d...

Hi Shambolic, thank you for your post - for both the new room stat and new programmer, BG literally ‘snapped’ off the front faces and snapped the new ones onto the existing back plates - no wiring was touched (replaced with exactly the same models)

24 Dec - update - Grundfos pump still runs constantly

The black cable that is attached to the actuator head? Each of the new Drayton actuators came with their own black cable attached to the unit (apologies if I’m wrong here and you mean something else) I just wish some of you were up North near me,so you could fix my fault (I’d pay you) And then...

24 Dec - update - Grundfos pump still runs constantly

Thank you Jeff. It has been suggested that the next thing BG heating electrician will do is to strip down the wiring junction box in the cupboard and start afresh, if the problem persists. What I can’t understand is that why did the first new actuator last 6 weeks, but now they’re barely...

24 Dec - update - Grundfos pump still runs constantly

Thank you Gasguru and Polesapart. The live 240v feed was coming from the orange wire on the Drayton heating zone actuator (it’s the 3rd new one that has been fitted last week). You are right - they are two port. The engineer stripped the actuator down to see if the orange and grey were stuck...

24 Dec - update - Grundfos pump still runs constantly

Hi Picasso I’m up in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. The 10th BritGas engineer is here now. He’s checking with his multimeter - there is a feed on the orange wire for the heating zone valve / no demand from heating/hot water. Programmer set to ‘off’ room.
