Miele WT945 washer/dryer, 'rinses' light flash, no drum spin, EL140A....

Ah--Thats good to know. I think the 150 is very similar to the 140A, and as soon as I get the new IGBT (coming from Germany) I'll let you know.... The guy in Netherlands recons the IGBT is either good or not, no inbetween, but IME Ive had intermittent IGBT's in plasma TV sets etc--Not often...

Miele WT945 washer/dryer, 'rinses' light flash, no drum spin, EL140A....

Well--I fitted the Transformer and the two relays to the controller. Loaded it up and all was well--Until it got to the rinses cycles. With this machine it takes in a lot more water on these stages than on the washing phase.--so much so, its approx 1cm above the lower lip of the door-seal...

    Meile WT2670 Dryer not workin

Ive had the condenser coolant water-solenoid fail on my WT945.... --Its the Pink solenoid of the pair near the back of machine, the coil should read around 3.6K ohm. Mine was O/C and therefore no water-flow so the condenser didnt extract the water/moisture from the re-circulating air and hot...

Ive just got hold of a replacement machine for the 4 year Beko that self-destructed, flooding the kitchen--Drum-Spider strikes again!.... This replacement is an old machine, but excellent condition, and infinitely better built than that plastic and crap Beko. Only trouble is--It lasted approx 3...

Hi John, --In the ones Ive seen/dismantled, the Inverter transformer secondary is connected direct to the output leads, therefore whatever the switching frequency is the output frequency, and as the inverter Tx is a rather small ferrite cored thing, this is going to be many tens of...

There'll be 4 or 5 lamp-holders/sockets--I Doubt they have ALL failed--At the same time..... This suggests that there's a failure between the transformer and the connections to all the sockets--worth pulling all the wires from the connection-block checking and re-installing.... The sockets...

Err-IF you had continued to read that post--the second line says--' --You'll notice, it says, 11.5Vac output at 250W on the device itself..... We are talking Lighting Transformer--Electronic, These things are seldom rectified and nearly always produce an AC output as described. Never seen one...

That Transformer you have fitted is an ELECTRONIC Transformer--It does NOT put out a DC Voltage, but an AC Voltage at around 50-100KHz depending on load... --You'll notice, it says, 11.5Vac output at 250W on the device itself..... --You'll not measure this with standard DC Meter! a...

Most common failure of the halogen-lamps not working is the lamp-holders themselves. --They don't normally ALL fail together however, so I suspect summit else.... Ive not had a Toroidal 12V Lamp transformer fail in one of these--YET!--but have had the connection-block to the lamp-holder tails...

How do you know the transducer has failed....? If its not broken physically, not gone black/lost metallic coating due to poor water/cleaning or very heavily pitted due to same, then it will work. They are the last part that fails with these things! Normal mode of failure for the mist-maker is...

It matters not a jot that the fan runs without the mist-maker active--Good improvisation to repair the fire--So long as it works, is perfectly safe--who cares whats behind the scenes making it work as it were!

The fan is only activated when the mist-maker is supplying mist, which happens around 1 minute after turning on the effect/fire. The parts inside the sump have no bearing on the fan or its speed. Suggest you check to confirm there's still no supply to fan while the mist-maker is making mist. If...

Martinb-- Your fan is probably tight with thickened oil, and may appear free when turned by hand.--I have to clean and oil mine every year. It runs at approx 10V when first turned on (post warm-up time) for around 10 seconds--Then switched to around 5v steady-state operation. Only a very small...
