    UC3 timber for loft floor?

Hello. In-laws loft needs reinforcement to make it ok for storage. I have loads of 4x2 UC3 timber I was hoping to use to lay perpendicular onto to the current joists. They would be spanning 2.7m and affixed at either end to the concrete walls. Since UC3 is particularly meant for outdoor uses...

    Beko washing machine tub failure.

Hi. Beko WIY84540 watching machine. Where the spring attaches to the tub has failed. Is this normal failure? I think it's about 5 years old. I assume the only solution is a new tub which is about £130? Wondering if I could drill a hole under the original hole and attach the spring or would...

    Discontinued Bristan part.

The thin metal handle is snapped off, damaging the ring and making it impossible to reattach. The shower still works but its hard to turn off with wet hands without the handle. It's in the kids bathroom so they may just have to live with it and I will keep trawling ebay for a used part. Edit...

    Discontinued Bristan part.

Hi. I need this flow control handle for an approximately 15 year old Bristan shower valve. Part number 00621423. Sadly discontinued and no sign on eBay. Is anyone aware of any other sources for older Bristan parts? Looking like I need to replace a £300 shower for a £30 part. Many thanks. C.

    Newlec NL2CHDPT1 replacement

Hi. Can someone suggest a simple way to replace a Newlec NL2CHDPT1 heating controller with one which can be controlled remotely? We have an office space which people use and keep leaving the heating on high so we want to be able to check and control it over wifi. Many thanks Craig

Should I replace this consumer unit?

Do you mean that rental agencies require certain electrical measures before they will list a property? For the last 8 years, it was an Airbnb. Before that, it was long-term lets but we never used an agency.
