    It’s nuts. If I was qualified I’d do it myself. I just think we need to try this before looking at expensive leak detectives and new boilers. Are you saying a chemical flush rather than a powerflush?

    so I think after a lot of research and magnets that there is a blockage in airing cupboard pipe (copper). Is that generally an easy enough job for an experienced engineer?

    Symptoms: Central heating system conventional, two rads one upstairs one down filling with air weekly, pumping over a bit and more in summer, magnet sticking to some pipes in airing cupboard. Action required according to advice here: powerflush, cut out and replace affected pipes if necessary...

    Had mine for a while now and like to fact you can see how much you are using, check they are receiving a reading etc. It did go off once but was easy to reset. Don’t know what happens when it’s life span is up though.

    It’s new build ‘style’ but about 30 years so the pipes will be that age. The boiler is about 10 yrs old and that’s never been an issue

    So re my previous posts about a lot of air getting into two radiators (conventional boiler) Magnet sticking to part of thin pipe in airing cupboard and no inhibitor ever been added I finally got a company to come out. They didn’t think this would be causing the air as there was way too much air...

    22mm. We have no issues with hot water. The hw cylinder heats up pretty quickly
