alright ladies and gents anyone any idea on how much i'd be looking at to fix my handbrake? old type clio p reg 97 its really loose, does what it has to but needs tighting i think any idead? cheers :wink:

am i right in thinking...installed new shower 9.5 kw...plus whats already on the installation 2 * lighting 6A 1 * ring main 32 A 1*immmersion 16A 1* socket oulet radial 16A 1*cooker 32A plus new shower 40A = 148Amps....the service fuse says on 60A???? giving way for diversity...

well took it out albeit sruggled to get the stupid thing out!! didnt reset then turned it upside down and it reset :? then turned it off, then back on but wont reset this time, now won't reset at all....sxo disconnected from the board with no tails going or coming from it and it wont reset...

cheers for all the advice you've all given me :wink: i shall take it out 1st thing and if it don't reset then screwfix is getting an ear bashing!!! i'll keep you informed :wink:

not very elegant haha here here!! had to rush the torch was dimming quickly as night was falling!! will tidy all up tomorrow when i upgrade main earth and change meter tails as they are too short and was one helluva stretch!! i'll take out and see if it'll reset tomorrow as i cant have...

the rcd was manufacture fitted but i think its correct and have checked connections!

the 6mm not connected is the cooker which i took out to test if the ring would work...gas cooker anyway so for the time being doesnt matter.... the 40A mcb is not used also obviously that would overload the rcd but as i said it doesnt have a circuit on...and i know the main earth needs...

its a crabtree starbreaker 10 way split load board...which we use all the time in work so i am familiar with them gimme a minute and i'll upload a photo and thank for helping me fellas i really do honestly appreciate it :wink:

thanks for reply john :wink: well the rcd tripped leaving the mcb still on and cant reset it since. unplugged everything on the circuit and still no reset. no outdoor light or sockets and yes as im an apprentice i have a guy with me at all times who tests any work i do like i said...

ok because i could not reset the rcd i put the ring circiut across to the non proctected side with my lights and immersion....everything has been fine for the last hour.... so with no load on the rcd side it should reset right? but it won't :?:

no rcd before just a wylex old rewireable board.. yes i'm positive the neutrals are in the correct bar because at first all i had on the split load neautral bar was the ring circuit neutral which wer tested for continuity....as i said changed to unprtected side including neutrals and its...

but still now there is nothing at all on the split load side of the cu and it still will not reset :?...even with all power isolated....still will not reset....could it be a faulty rcd?? :? i'd really appreciate some advice thanks :wink:

i havent taken none...right ok im an apprentice and i know i shouldnt be doing this but my mum asked if i would as we had an old rewireable type..i've done numerous boards in work with no problems...the guy i work with said he'd test it on monday to check everything was ok :cry: clearly its...

just changed my board to a split load type and sockets were ok for maybe a minute then the rcd tripped and wont reset?? :roll: changed the ring circuit to the non rcd protected side and its fine...any ideas??? cheers

sunroof was leaking so plain old silicone from the diy shop?? have no idea how but it ended up ALL over the place :?

any ideas what can remove this from the window of my car and a little on the paintwork without damaging ? cheers :wink:

Recently had to turn all water to house off for repairs....water is heating fine but the readiators are not heating up?? :?: :oops: any ideas?
