Not really. You would need a FCU to spur from the ring final circuit, which is limited to a maximum of 13A. This makes the garage CU pretty pointless.

It will not work. There are some dimmer pull switches which have a proper switched terminal for the fan, but this may require your wiring to be slightly reconfigured

Looks like an electronic transformer. How many lamps connect to this, and what is the rating of each lamp?

@ OP, I see you have already installed this cable. Would you replace it with the correct cable if we told you this was wrong, or have you made your mind up to just leave it in place anyway?

So do you pick and choose which regulations you adhere to, and which ones you do 'something like' depending on how difficult it is?

Do you ever design installations, or do you work to plans etc? Do you work on your own, or are you supervised / mentored by people trained to the 17th ed. regs?

If she is not prepared to have her installation made safe, then you must not do the work. Explain this to her, and if she is slill not prepared to have the PEBs upgraded, then walk away. What would happen if your DISQ assessor picked this job and found your work did not comply with BS7671...
