Thanks. Looking at it, if we were to get someone in to do it how much of the rendering would need to come off do you think. Can you just take off the patches where it has come away and re-render just those parts? I've never had it done, so have no idea.

Am selling house and have a problem with the rendering coming away from the wall in a position that is really obvious to anyone coming through the front gate to view the house. I can't afford to get someone in to re-do it, especially as we're moving out. I've attached pictures of the issue...

Hi all, Finally got round to fitting the new O rings sent by Abode, greased with Silicon grease as suggested, but tap still weeping. Not sure what to try next. Even though the O rings are the correct ones, would it worth trying some different sized ones? Thanks, Larry.

Bought those, but I just could not get them to grip without slipping, so ended up taking a bit of a hammer to it and managed to get the collar loose. Next question is, should the swan neck come all the way out the tap? Cheers.

Hi All, I'm trying to get the bolt at the bottom of the neck of my mixer tap undone to see why it's leaking, but I can't get this to budge at all. I've tried using a wrench with some material round the tap, but have only succeded in slightly damaging the tap. I'm guessing it's just...

In the end, I got someone in to do it. It looked too tricky for a complete novice like myself to do. Cost me £500.

Just spoke to the local building supplier and they've got the lime mix, so any suggestion for a ratio for doing this?

I thought I'd read that for old stone walls like this you'd need a lime mortar. Is this hard to get hold of (quick scan of Jewson turns up no obvious Lime-based mix)? Is it hard to work with given my cementing experience is limited? Thanks.
