    Just had a text from a mate who thinks it looks like perlite concrete, had a look at some images and looks the closest so far. If I can't identify it properly i'll just leave it untouched it's causing no harm where it is. Cheers folks.

    It didnt seem to have the 'spongy' look of vermiculite but I'm far from an expert, if it is, in a property that age best just to cover it up and leave it? Read somewhere than a lot of old vermiculite can contain asbestos.
