    Honeywell oldie thermostat

The other controls I have are an old randall 103 timer in the kitchen across the hallway from the Honeywell. Other than that all I can see are radiators and the heat only boiler in the garage

    Honeywell oldie thermostat

No matter where I put this dial, the radiator is always on unless it's under 10. It feels more like a level control than a thermostat detecting and regulating radiators on and off. It is 41 years old now, would this suggest the thermostat is off (to a high degree not just a few c)? Thanks

Operation of 1st dial on heat only boiler

Thank you. Nothing me changing it would mess up tho? It's entry way to deeper operations within the boiler or am I reading that wrong?

Operation of 1st dial on heat only boiler

Learning boiler control here, thanks for help. Second dial controls the maximum amount of heat going to radiators I believe, is that accurate? What does the first dial do with the lock at the bottom, two circles and the 1 at the top? Anything else I should know about basic operations?

Carpet ripped up, bitumen, asphalt (asbestos) subflooring?

Drying isn't the issue. Having respiratory symptoms are. It's clearly tied to the house. It's clearly become more concentrated since the carpet was removed. I cannot conceive of a solution that doesn't involve removing the subflooring. I don't see a DPM fixing or incapsulating a compromised...

Carpet ripped up, bitumen, asphalt (asbestos) subflooring?

Yes. I've left the house for a week. The symptoms have disappeared. Beyond the respiratory issues, this also includes muscular aches disappearing. It would seem to suggest prolonged exposure from mould from what I can gather. The symptoms since the carpet was removed have certainly been more...

Carpet ripped up, bitumen, asphalt (asbestos) subflooring?

Any ID on the floor from just the picture or the options of what it most likely is? It feels plastic leathery. Is it something I should be asbestos concerned about before going ahead with this sealing?

Carpet ripped up, bitumen, asphalt (asbestos) subflooring?

Thanks for replies. Unfortunately doctors haven't been helpful in identifying any cause or issues despite repeated attempts. New doctors I'm thinking

Carpet ripped up, bitumen, asphalt (asbestos) subflooring?

Thanks for that. Would this method seal in VOCs and the like if there is some off gassing effect or just seal damp issues? I'm concerned that this isn't mould that's causing reactions from this material because a p100 mask is not working.

Carpet ripped up, bitumen, asphalt (asbestos) subflooring?

Is there any suspected ID on that flooring other than asphalt (bitumen black mastic etc) and the type of glue used? Does it seem plausible that long term water damage (2 years+) would be causing persistent symptoms beyond mould? I'm confused as to what is causing respiratory symptoms since the...

Carpet ripped up, bitumen, asphalt (asbestos) subflooring?

What do you propose is happening to me? Mould or Voc or otherwise? I'm still getting ill when wearing a p100 mask. What do you suspect it is making me sick if not mould, or perhaps faulty equipment? I'm concerned that if I seal it, there will still be issues. Is this fairly cheap and efficient?

Carpet ripped up, bitumen, asphalt (asbestos) subflooring?

Hello, I am in a really confused state dealing with illness in my house since September of last year and would like some advice on how to proceed please. Hidden water damage had been neglected much longer than it should because of taking care of my father here who eventually died in June 2024...

What should I do wit this

I'm fine for some quick advice, whatever was in your last reply i skimmed through, I'm ok without. Your questioning had nothing to do with DIY and therefore became an unnecessary issue of qualifying returns to the forum. I couldn't be more candid than I was without going into details with your...

What should I do wit this

Are there prolonged consequences of not doing a proper job, other than aesthetic? It's not something I'm in a rush to do and its a very stressful time unfortunately. Apart from the carpet where is the damp? It all seems to have dried out unless there is something the people that have come to...

What should I do wit this

Damp meant these areas below had to be torn away. I'm not interested in a whole aesthetic job of everything matching etc, only a coverup at most and have put it in this forum section because I'm not sure whether to have it plastered over, left for now until a bigger project, or tiled etc...

Mould from leaked roof coming into bedroom below advice

Roof has been sealed up now, but the undetected damage ended up causing mould most noticeably here behind fitted wardrobes and starting to give me allergic reactions with conjunctivitis and chest symptoms. How do I approach this? Does this need to be removed from above via the loft with...
