To begin with the door handle broke and I was told by a misfit that the only way to open it was from the inside (WRONG) In trying this I think I moved the selector program and now I don,t know how to reset it so that when I select a program it is the right one. - ANY IDEAS PLEASE James

Washer doors (most that is) have a time delay built in after the washer stops, this is mostly in the interlock, (the bit the door catch fits into) these can sometimes stop working and wont let you open the door. There is also a water sensor running up to the interlock that wont let you open...
